Journalism Program
The private gymnasium “Antoni MP Barili”, in the Antoni Center program, develops something more than education, where students, in addition to the program provided for the general, computer, and philological direction of the gymnasium, develop competencies in the field of journalism and prepare for enrollment in the desired faculty. This way of acquiring knowledge develops creativity in students, frees them from the fear of public speaking, develops verbal competencies, confidence in their abilities, strengthens the personality and emotional maturity of students.
The gymnasium, due to its specificity, stands out in that it provides children aged 14 to 19 with the opportunity to develop communication skills as well as later improvement in the sphere of media: written, printed, radio, and television.

Within the four-year education in the sphere of media, our students will have the opportunity to get acquainted with five basic functions of the media:

In today’s time of advanced techniques and technologies, when almost all information is at our fingertips, it is important to learn how to engage in investigative journalism and how important and necessary it is in the modern age. It is also important to recognize the importance and role of the power of the media as a special social factor: how it is used and how it is managed.

This program contains the following:
History of media: studying the history of media is the best way to understand the impact of media activity on society, because in a way the nature of today’s media has created a new media industry that occupies a very important place in our economy. Studying the history of the origin and development of media, as well as the process of changes that this phenomenon has developed, determining the development of today’s world, enables students of our school to be informed through lectures and develop interdisciplinary competencies, with special emphasis on the subjects of history, economics, and Serbian language and literature, as well as artistic subjects. By studying the origin of media and journalism as a profession, students can recognize the profession they would like to pursue in the future.
Written and printed media: how a printed medium is made, what a journalistic text for a printed edition implies, what text layout is and how it is made.
Within our school, various programs in which layouts are made will be studied, and accordingly, students will already be educated enough to be able to independently engage in this type of work in newspaper editorial offices after graduating from high school.
Internet media: what is a media portal, how it is made, how it is updated daily, how topics are selected for internet media. Within this education, students of the private gymnasium “Antoni MP Barili” will have the opportunity to work directly on several media portals that will give them their support even after graduation.
Television: this comprehensive media phenomenon carries within it several segments that are studied separately, but eventually merge into one whole – which is called a television show. Camera, sound, editing: each of these segments implies work on certain programs that students will study during their schooling, and practical work will be enabled on several televisions and You tube channels. Within this segment, students will be able to independently produce their own contributions, content for You tube, their own shows. The idea is for students to launch their own educational You tube channel within the school, which will also enable other users to learn their skills.
Photography: A special segment of the media that is not directly related to the media but is very closely related is photography, which will occupy a special place within all our training and education. Students will have complete equipment at their disposal with which they will be able to learn all the necessary elements, and the lecturers will be eminent photographers who have achieved results in their work. This type of training will enable students to develop their entrepreneurial qualities and very easily earn their first money.
This program opens up numerous opportunities and qualifications for the student, which the student can build through four years of education by trying out practical work.
